We were honored to take part in SARA’s Design Awards Gala in which we took home awards for West Village Townhouse and The Suffolk. The banquet, held at the renovated TWA Hotel, was the perfect place to both celebrate and experience architecture and design, as we enjoyed the Eero Saarinen-designed building.
New Dyson SoHo flagship location featured in a number of outlets
Dyson Store SoHo, which opened just in time for New York Fashion Week, has been featured in a number of media outlets including Retail & Leisure International, Chain Store Age, The New Yorker, and Retail Week. We are proud to have collaborated with Dyson on this renovation design, bringing together the built history of the neighborhood with Dyson’s forward-looking approach to retail and technology.
Jean-Gabriel Neukomm’s Nephelepsis exhibited at PAD London, 2024
Presented by Charles Burnard Gallery, the Nephelepsis chandelier pushes the boundaries of design and making by merging sleek, futuristic lines with organic fluidity. The purity of form is contrasted by its deep materiality, consisting of mica fragments and patinated bronze, to make a unique lighting fixture that resists definition. We are thrilled to see Neukomm’s work exhibited in this setting and proud to exhibit with Charles Burnand Gallery alongside a number of beautiful pieces.
Open House New York: The Suffolk
During a jam-packed Open House New York weekend, we were delighted to present four sold-out tours of The Suffolk to design and architecture aficionados. The event spans over 270 sites and welcomes tens of thousands of visitors into some of the city’s most interesting sites.
Furniture is Architecture at SCAD
Matthew Gray, one of our lead designers, was invited to SCAD to present about his work. Matthew earned his MFA in Furniture Design from the school in the 2010s and delivered a presentation that focused on ambiguity in the design process, especially as it relates to JG Neukomm Architecture’s work, straddling the boundaries between furniture, architecture, and interiors.
AIA NY: Built by New York
We were incredibly excited to participate in AIA New York’s exhibition Built by New York, which highlights projects by New York City architects that reflect upon the last twenty years and look forward into the future of the field. Work was staged over all three floors of the Center for Architecture and our luxury residential project, The Suffolk, was among the exhibited selections. The exhibition is open to the public until April 5, 2025.

The kids, in grades 6-8 and from New York, were enthusiastic and curious, and we had a fantastic time showing them around a unique residence in their own city as part of their week on “Homes of the Future.”

We had an amazing time supporting our Design Trust community at their annual benefit, which took place at the newly designed Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library. JGNA is proud to have a role in how public space is shaped in New York City and recognizes the impact that organizations like Design Trust for Public Space have in the shaping and stewardship of our civic futures.

JG Neukomm was invited to present on a panel at AIA NY alongside Natalia Lesniak, a lighting designer at Lumen Architectur, and Erica Voss, Founder and CEO of Good Lux. The panel sough to investigate the power of light in terms of wellness, accessibility and equity, with insights from designers and researchers about lighting applications across projects.

NYCxDESIGN Panel at The Suffolk
Design enthusiasts recently attended an exciting panel at The Suffolk, our newest luxury rental in the Lower East Side, to celebrate the NYCxDESIGN festival. Moderated by New York Times contributor Laura van Straaten, JG Neukomm and Simeon Maleh, Executive Vice President of Development of the Gotham Organization, discussed everything from their thought process during The Suffolk's initial design stages to how the historic and vibrant Lower East Side is woven into details throughout the building.

Winter Newsletter 2022
When we issued our newsletter last year, we were collectively facing a great deal of uncertainty about the near future of our cities and what it would be like to live in them. While this still may be the case in many ways, we are grateful to have been able to gradually reconnect with our friends and colleagues, and continuously encouraged by discussions of how we are moving forward.
We are pleased to share with you some of our news from the past year, which has again emphasized the enjoyment of collaborations taking place face-to-face. Projects have been completed, others are near completion, and new ones have begun.

Rendering Revealed for Broome Street Development on Lower East Side
Permits have been filed for the 16-story mixed-use building at 64 Norfolk Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side for which JGNA has designed the interior-architecture, with a focus on evoking the histories and materials of the LES.

F&T and JGNA Support Queens
We are sharing our collaborator F&T Organization’s ongoing efforts with La Jornada to provide support for the Queen’s residents most affected by the pandemic. Prior to COVID-19, La Jornada was feeding 1,000 people per week. Now, with Queens experiencing its highest-ever unemployment rate, that number has increased to 10,000 per week.

The second residence at L.A Metropolis is officially open. We look forward to the continued collaboration with Greenland on the third tower of L.A Metropolis.
Reimagining Peter Cooper Village
We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Stuytown Property Services and Beam Living in the ongoing renovations at Peter Cooper Village. JGNA has been commissioned to reassess major elements for the 21-building wide project, including the building entrances, interior finishes, and residential amenities. Future work to include a study of the 30-acre site and means to improve the public interactions there.
